Is Palm the right choice for Motorola?
Tomorrow is supposed to the day of reckoning for the bid to takeover Palm, with a number of private equity firms as well as Nokia and Motorola making bids. The latest from CNBC cites a Palm shareholder as suggesting that it's Motorola that will win the bid.
Om says it makes the most sense for Motorola to takeover this company.
He's right. It has the won general IT-department approval for enterprise support, which complements Motoral's purchase of the push-email company Good, whose service I hear works very well on the Treo. The Treo also has implemented Windows Mobile better than most smartphones. It has a fan base and plenty of word of mouth cred to keep the brand going.
