Jeff Jarvis instructs blog entrepreneurs

Jeff Jarvis, NYC media maven supreme, will be teaching a course about blogging entrepreneurship at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.

Jarvis, who founded the magazine Entertainment Weekly, is certainly the who can provide lessons in making a business proposition successful. I ran into him one noontime at a sandwich shop here in NYC, and had a little discussion about blogging and advertising.

For those interested in the CUNY journalism program, there will be an open house this Wednesday at their 365 Fifth Ave. location:

Wednesday, January 18, 2006
7:00-8:30 pm
Information session with Dean Steve Shepard, Prof. Jeff Jarvis and Prof. Sarah Bartlett and admissions staff.
Special presentation about the Urban and Business reporting and Interactive Journalism specializations.
Room C202, CUNY Graduate Center

I would expect a program such as this to take a progressive view of media, as Jeff is a undying critic of the mainstream media which he expects to succumb to the pervasiveness and transparency of the blogosphere.
